Security Director Charged Over Mineral Fraud

By Angel Lubowa

The anti graft agencies led by SH_ACU in collaboration with police and the DPP arraigned Mr Akampulira Isaac Rukanda, a Director of Detail Security Company Ltd, at Kajjansi Chief Magistrates Court on charges of storing minerals without a licence and mixing minerals with intent to defraud.

He denied all the charges and was remanded until 16/09/2026

According to the prosecution, between February 2025 and August 2026, Akampulira and others still at large, while working at Detail Security Company Ltd in Lweza, Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District, allegedly kept minerals, including copper, zinc and cobalt, without a valid licence.

They are also accused of mixing the minerals in different proportions and presenting them as gold bars, with the intention of defrauding investors.

This is not the first time SH_ACU is arresting and sending mineral fraudsters to court. It has been fighting the vice and research indicates that sanity is gradually returning to mineral business.
