The former LC 3 chairman has been dragged to court by
SH_ACU together with police and the DPP over abuse of government office.
Sekikubo Mubarak, former LC III Chairperson of Nakisunga Sub-County in Mukono District, was paraded before the Anti-Corruption Court and was charged with corruption and criminal conspiracy.
He denied the charges and has been remanded until November 4th, 2026.
Prosecution alleges that between January and June 2025, in Mukono Town, Mubarak criminally conspired with Mugerwa Ronald Saaku, a Probation and Welfare Officer for Lugazi Municipality, and Dr Wataba Saadi, who are both still at large, to defraud Dr Mukisa George William, a job applicant, of UGX 38 million.
They allegedly falsely represented to Dr Mukisa that they could secure him a government position as a Medical Officer in Mukono District.
Investigations further revealed that Mubarak and his alleged accomplices claimed that the money would be used to facilitate members of the Mukono District Service Commission to improperly influence the Commission’s decision-making and secure Dr Mukisa the Medical Officer position in exchange for an undue advantage.
