The former boss of Butaleja district has been paraded in court over graft.
This was on Thursday morning after he was arrested by SH_ACU working together with Uganda police and the DPP recently.
Higenyi Micheal Bory, former chairman LC5 Butaleja district was charged before the Chief Magistrate's Court Butaleja on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.
It is alleged that, between 2021 and January 2026,while serving as Chairperson LC5 Butaleja District, Higenyi ,, during every recruitment exercise obtained money, millions of shillings from several applicants promising to give them jobs under Butaleja district local government, which was not true.
He has been remanded until 1st September 2026 after he denied the alleged charges.
