Government has moved smartly to stop interdicted officials who have been returning to offices after six months saying its illegal until they are fully cleared of their legal accusations.
This comes at a time when some officials mostly those arrested and investigated by SH_ACU in collaboration with police and DPP have been returning to work as soon as the first six months are done even when their alleged charges were still on going.

According to a statement isued by the Attorney General’s, Hon Dr Sam Mayanja interdictions are valid as long as the suspect is still under investigations.
" According to my legal opinion, where a public officer is still under prosecution, that public officer/servant continues under interdiction until the criminal prosecution is concluded and ends in his or her acquital" says a ministerial statement from the Attorney General.
The news has left corruption suspects who have been hoodwinking the public whenever their interdictions went beyond six months under any circumstances to return to work with clumsy excuses.
To the law enforcement and corruption fighters like , it's all smiles because the gap has been giving suspects illegal access to their respective offices.
" Can you imagine that after six months, the suspects have been boasting about accessing offices and misleading the local community by claiming that the case has been dropped, when in fact it is still ongoing. This false narrative has harmed the reputation of the investigative bodies, leading the public to believe they have been bribed, which is not the case" said an officer from yesterday.
He said that " It's crucial that the local community understands the fairness demonstrated by the Attorney General in this matter. Therefore, let's make it clear: no more bragging from the suspects".
