The SH_ACU together with the police CID and the DPP , have arraigned Kayiwa Amir before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of offering gratification.
He was remanded until September 30, 2026 after he denied the alleged charges.
It is alleged that on August 29, 2026, at Lubowa in Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District, Kayiwa offered UGX 8 million to police officers guarding a crime scene.
The alleged bribe was intended to allow him access to the office of Asimwe Emmanuel at Details Security Company Ltd, where he reportedly planned to remove vital evidence.
This had followed an earlier complaint filed to the unit concerning the alleged theft of 785 kilograms of gold from Details Security Company Ltd premises which prompted the unit and police in Wakiso to secure and cordon off the scene as investigations commenced.
